Flexistore: The World's First Fully Digital Self-Storage Ecosystem

Flexistore AS is a Norwegian pioneer in the self-storage industry, aiming to modernize a traditionally manual and labor-intensive sector. Before partnering with Devson, the storage market relied on physical keys, rigid office hours, and manual paperwork, creating significant friction for users and high overhead for operators.

Devson built a comprehensive, cross-platform mobile ecosystem (iOS, Android, and PWA) that serves as the "remote control" for the user's storage experience. The solution integrates hardware-level IoT (Danalock/Flexilock) with a robust AWS-powered cloud infrastructure and local payment gateways like Vipps.

The outcome was Norway’s first 100% digital self-storage solution. Users can now book, pay, sign contracts, and access their units 24/7—all within minutes, without human intervention. This "silent facility" model has allowed Flexistore to scale rapidly to over 40 locations globally, achieving industry-leading customer ratings and a massive reduction in operational costs.

We developed a state-of-the-art hybrid application that handles the entire customer lifecycle. The architecture was designed for "Offline-First" capability, ensuring that even in concrete storage basements without cellular signal, users could still unlock their units via Bluetooth.

Technical Core
